BIO: I am currently working in Information Technology, providing engineering and system integration of VoIP telephone systems, voicemail and audio conferencing systems.

Also have extensive background in local and wide area network engineering and implementation. I spent six years in the Air Force working as an avionics/radio repair techician--UHF, VHF and HF radios, TACAN navigation systems on C130, F4, F16 aircraft.

I was originally licensed in 1978, operated while at Hill AFB in Ut. When I got out of the Air Force I moved to southern California and lost touch with hobby. After the Air force, went to work for Wang Labs as a field service technician in Los Angeles. Moved from field service to working for a bank in their data center, implementing networks. That was the early days of customer managed T1 networks using N.E.T.

multiplexers and early model Ethernet baseband networks. Eventually we moved to token ring, then when that died, went to 10BaseT. I think that bank is now out of business, go figure.

I am currently running a Kenwood TS-850, a Flex-3000 with Power SDR 2.4.4. Also have a Yaesu FT-847 that I use as a base for VHF and UHF locally here in San Antonio.

I have a Yaesu 7900R in the car and also a Wouxun KG-UV3D HT. I really like HF bands although have only been able to make a few international contacts (Argentina and Chile).

I spend a lot of time on 80 meters (3822) and on 40 meters (7195, and others).

I am re-learning the code so I can do CW with a goal of getting to 20 WPM by my next birthday.

Thanks for looking me up, 73,Chris, W7CFN
