BIO: Iam a six generation Texan, his family going back to the Republic of Texas. I, moved to New Braunfels, in 1957, and went to Canyon High school. And later attended San Antonio College and Texas A&M. I worked for 21 years in public service, with the New Braunfels Fire Department service and Comal and Tom Green County Sheriff Department. On 25 May 1984, I got a Novice ticket ham license, KA5UAO. We moved to San Angelo in 1987, where I lost my interest in Ham Radio. In 1994 we moved back to New Braunfels and I retired in 2003 after I had a heart attract. In 2009 I remember my dream of working in Ham Radio, so started studying and in June 23, 2010 I got my Techician Ticket Ham License KF5HMU. I got my radios out of storage and tried to get back on line. I them bought a power supply and a VHF,UHF antenna. I couldn’t get my Yaesu FT-225RD back in service. But my Kenwood TR7850 worked OK, my wife bought me a Communication Specialist TE32 tone box for me. In 2010 John Orton, W5JBO was kind and installed it for me. I got a ICOM-2100H and now able to be on the air. In 2007, I lost the use of my legs and now live in a wheelchair. My Ham Radio and my friends help making my day on the air, and keeps my day bright. My dream is to be able to make contact other Texans and other people of the world. I enjoy be with our men and ladies of 146.420. They help me make it through the day. I hope this year will be the year I get my General License, so I can talk to the world. My wife Dorothy June has put up with me for 28 years. I have three children and seven grandchildren. |
