BIO: I recently put my 6m beacon back on the air.  I show the frequency to be 50,071.5 KHz.  It's being run on a dipole up on a hilltop about 12ft above ground with 10 watts of drive. And only recently, my 6m beacon radio seems to have quit putting out power.  Hopefully, it won't be too long before I get it fixed and back on the air.

First licensed in 1973 while in the U.S. Air Force as WN5KNN.  I was only active the first year of the 2 year license.  Had to break the addiction as  opposed to having problems at home.

Dad contacted me six years later about his getting back into ham radio. I didn't know that he had been licensed. We went together to the FCC in downtown Houston and we got our General licenses together.  He bacame N5CCB & I N5CCA.  We had 2 years together on the air before Dad became a silent  key.  His final call was KQ5P. Dad was a super high speed cw operator of whom I'll never equal but I have inherited some skill from him and appreciate that.

Since then I have been mostly active on the air.  I handled traffic for over 20 years.  I have been a dx'er, I have enjoyed contesting, mobile hf operating
especially mobile cw and many many ragchews.

I went to work at KCOMM, Inc., The Ham Store in San Antonio, Texas and have been working there over 25 years now.  Previous to that I had been an electronics technician.  Now, I just talk a lot. sales.

My apologies to a lot of friends whom I have driven crazy with many callsign changes.  I've decided KS5V is my final call.  Wh knows though if I'll ever really be satisfied.  Besides the Novice call mentioned earlier, I have AE5ED, NR5ED & W5KNN.

In addition to ham radio, I play guitar a little, enjoy my pool table, enjoy bowling and have been into computer gaming pretty heavy the past few years.

Finally, kudos to the wife.  We have been married for 40 years and she has been most understanding all through the years.  And kudos to my 2 sons also who are great responsible adults.
