HAMster Awards.....

The HAMster Group created the following Award Catagories to help encourage activity in multiple area's of Amateur Radio and to build excitement in learning new ASPECTS of our Hobby. Most of the Awards are geared towards Weak Signal VHF/UHF/SHF operation, we do recognize other aspects of the Hobby and have an Award program to help promote those areas as well.

We encourage all members to take part in our Awards Program and please feel free to e-mail us with any additional Award Ideas you may wish to extend to the group. Each Award Winner is listed in our Awards Recepiant list as well as will recieve a Certificate.

Please take note of each individual catagory for Rules and Points Required to be eligible for that Award.

Award Catagory and Winners:

Consistent Activity Award

This Award is a contest style award with members earning points for every contact they make on a daily bases, with the number of points per contact based on the band worked. The contest runs each year from November 1st to November 1st. Awards to be presented at our Annual Christmas Party.

There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner for this catagory based on total number of points.

Rules:

#1: Contest will run from November 1st to October 31st each year. Logs must be turned in no later than November 5th of each year. Award/Certificates will be issued to our three winners at the Annual Christmas Party.

#2: Logs must be Submitted in the following formats: ADIF or Cabrillo

#3: You can work the same station once in each 24 hour period, but there must be at least 2 hours between QSOs with that same station in order to get credit.

#4: Contacts can be made in CW, SSB, AM, FM or Digital Modes. REPEATER CONTACTS ARE NOT PERMITTED.

#5: Points are earned as follows:

6 meters:_____1 Point per contact

2 meters:_____1 Point per contact

1.25 Meters:__ 3 Points per contact

70cm:_______ 2 Points per contact

33cm:_______ 5 Points per contact

23cm:_______ 6 Points per contact

VHF/UHF 500 Mile Award:

This Award/Certificate is awarded upon succesful completion of a contact over 500 Miles. To earn this Award you must make a contact on 144MHz through 1296MHz over 500 miles.

Rules:

#1: The contact must be made on or between 2 meters and 23cm.

#2: The contact must be made using the following modes: CW, SSB, AM, FM.

#3: The contact must be made Simplex. Repeater contacts, no matter what the distance, are not eligible.

#4: The contact must be confirmed with an Audio/Video Recording, QSL Card or 3 HAMster Witness's.

500 Mile Award Winners

VHF/UHF 1000 Mile Award:

This Award/Certificate is awarded upon succesful completion of a contact over 1000 Miles. To earn this Award you must make a contact on 144MHz through 1296MHz over 1000 miles.

Rules:

#1: The contact must be made on or between 2 meters and 23cm.

#2: The contact must be made using the following modes: CW, SSB, AM, FM.

#3: The contact must be made Simplex. Repeater contacts, no matter what the distance, are not eligible.

#4: The contact must be confirmed with an Audio/Video Recording, QSL Card or 3 HAMster Witness's.

EME Award:

This award/Certificate is awarded upon succesful complete of an EME {Moon Bounce} contact. It is issued by

Band, and Distance communicated. Note: SSB Phone contacts earn you the Triple Star EME Award, the highest level awarded for EME.

Rules:

#1: The Contact must be made on or between 6 Meters and 23cm

#2: The Contact may be made on CW, SSB or Digital Mode

#3: The contact must be confirmed with an QSL Card.

Rules:

#1: The contact must be made on or between 6 meters and 23cm. The Award is issued by Band.

#2: The contact must be made using the following modes: CW, SSB, AM, FM.

#3: The contact must be made Simplex. Repeater contacts, no matter what the distance, are not eligible.

#4: A Grid number can only be counted once per band.

#4: The contact must be confirmed with an Log. Logs must be Submitted in the following formats: ADIF or Cabrillo

This award is earned through the successful contact of a station over 100 miles using 5 watts or less on 6 Meters or 2 meters.

#3: The contact must be made Simplex. Repeater contacts, no matter what the distance, are not eligible.
